Firstly, this restaurant is located next to the Vue cinema in Carmarthen. It is a small chain of restaurants based ( at the name states) on a welsh theme. I was lucky enough to be given a voucher for an eight yes eight course meal. I have to say it was a really good experience. It took us nearly three hours to eat through the courses. I think this is how restaurants ought to be. When we arrived, we were greeted by the reservation staff, and then we were introduced to "Dee" who would be looking after us through the eight courses. "Dee" came across as a very confident and caring person and wanted to make sure this experience went well. She explained that eight courses were a lot, but if we wanted a break, there was no problem. Each time we finished a course, she asked if we were ready for the next or delay a while. It was great because we felt like we were not being rushed. I think "Dee" is a credit to the company both for her professionalism and her attentiveness. The atmosphere in the "Welsh House" was both calming and intimate, with booths being in the centre of the room with some larger tables being catered for. As the title suggests, this restaurant is based on a Welsh theme with pictures of old Carmarthen and poems. There is also a coracle hanging from the ceiling. With the low light in this restaurant, it makes for a nice atmosphere. If anybody is physically challenged, this restaurant is located on the ground floor with a wide front door, and the toilets are easily accessed. I think whatever you need the staff will be attentive. When you are dining here, you can even watch the chefs cooking your food as they are facing you. Different food and smaller meals can be found on the website. The photographs I am submitting are just part of the eight courses. If you are coming to Wales or even Carmarthen for the first time, this is an experience I'm sure you will enjoy. Parking is very near just across the square in the multi-storey.

We had a wonderful evening dining at The Welsh House. The food was lovely and staff were friendly & attentive. Live music was a great touch. Cheesecake was 10/10. Thank you for having us!

Absolutely gorgeous food. Fantastic atmosphere and brilliant service. We couldnt fault the meals. Great selection of drinks too. There was also great live music by Brook Fox, catering for everyones taste, at the end of the evening. The place has been done out really well with such a great nod to Wales. Managers were very personable and a credit to the place. Looking forward to a return visit!

We had a table booked for 5 people for a lunchtime reservation. The staff were attentive, we were met and greeted then promptly seated. One member of our party was sporting a knee injury, so we requested a booth. This was hastily arranged. Our drinks order was taken and once all our party arrived, food orders were placed. Within 20 minutes food arrived, warm, and we were all impressed with how nice it was. Our Server, Sally, was super nice and 2 members of the team asked if everything was ok with the meals. This is now my fourth visit to the Welsh House and it's been good each time I've visited. During the opening weekend there was a live music singer/song writer performing, which was certainly a bonus. If you're preference is for a quieter table, be sure to get a table towards the back of the restaurant on music nights.

We booked for our 3rd wedding anniversary here for a meal. From booking to walking in it was great. Greeted by a lovely chap and sat in a lovely area of the restaurant. Brad our waiter was amazing. We were given a free drink to celebrate our anniversary, lovely touch. The service from start to finish was outstanding. The food was superb, really quick service and plenty of checking in from Brad to make sure all was just right with the food. We will certainly return and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We came here for first time on Father’s Day and food was amazing - could do with more vegetables on the Sunday roast and more stuffing but it was lovely food. We all have leek and potato soup to start and it was lush, very hot but we all enjoyed it. I’ll come back as we want to try other menus and not just Sunday lunch. I’m not sure who our server was as I didn’t hear her name but she was so lovely. Cannot recommend this place enough

Went here to celebrate mine and my friends birthday with my partner and her husband and the staff were so helpful and polite and I especially have say a massive thank you to TILLI who went above and beyond to make sure our night was amazing. The food here is amazing and the price you pay is reflected in the quality of the food. If you want good food and drink then this place is a must. I highly recommend the pornstar martini and the campfire cwtch cocktails and for food I definitely recommend the steaks. And as for deserts the strawberry delice and the free warm gooey chocolate brownie as a birthday surprise from the restaurant was a really nice touch. So a huge massive thank you TILLI and all the front of house staff and the entire kitchen team for making my birthday one to truly remember.

Great food, really well cooked, the staff are lovely and the restaurant is nice too oh and I almost forgot the chips are amazing!
